Capcom is actively working to enhance the performance of Monster Hunter Wilds ahead of its much-anticipated release. This initiative was announced via the game's official German Twitter (X) account on January 19, 2025, showcasing their commitment to delivering a smoother gaming experience.

Plans to Lower GPU Requirements for PC

A recent video shared by Monster Hunter Germany illustrated a hunter in action against Quematrice, a rooster-like brute wyvern, demonstrating the new Prioritize Framerate mode on the PS5. This mode focuses on boosting the frames per second (fps) by making certain graphical sacrifices, leading to a more fluid gameplay experience.

Importantly, Capcom is extending these optimizations to the PC version of the game. The official statement from the Twitter (X) post reads, "Performance will be improved in a similar way and we are looking into whether we can lower the recommended GPU requirements." This is significant news for PC gamers as it could mean that Monster Hunter Wilds may soon be accessible to those with lower or mid-tier GPUs. Issues in the First Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta

The first open beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds, conducted between October and November 2024, revealed significant performance issues that left many players dissatisfied. Feedback from Steam users highlighted concerns about low-poly NPCs and monsters, giving the game a dated look reminiscent of PS1 graphics.
