Indie game developer Sander Frenken has unveiled Battledom, his upcoming RTS-lite game, now in Alpha testing. This title serves as a spiritual successor to his 2020 hit, Herodom, and represents roughly two years of part-time development. Frenken describes Battledom as a closer realization of his initial vision for Herodom.
Battledom features dynamic RTS combat, letting players freely maneuver units across the battlefield. Direct enemy targeting and manual siege weapon operation add a layer of tactical control. Strategic formations further enhance the gameplay experience.
Players build their armies using in-game coins, starting with basic, unequipped units. Customization is key; players equip units with weapons and armor, each impacting stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.
Resource gathering and crafting are central to Battledom. Players collect resources like wood, leather, and coal within their village, then utilize blacksmiths, magicians, and other artisans to craft equipment.
Frenken's previous work, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating, showcasing over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-themed battles. Progression unlocks new character customizations and farm additions.
iOS users can participate in the Battledom Alpha via TestFlight. For updates and further information, follow Sander Frenken on X (formerly Twitter) or Reddit. His other games are available on the App Store.
