New details about the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows have surfaced online following an apparent artbook leak, which reportedly emerged from an unexpected source - a website known for hosting adult content.

Discovered on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, an artbook titled "The Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows" has quickly spread across the internet. The extensive leak contains hundreds of pages featuring concept art, developer commentary, and production insights about the next Assassin's Creed installment.

While the leak itself is significant, Reddit users noted the unusual origin point - allegedly a hentai-focused platform. IGN has reached out to Ubisoft for official comment regarding this unexpected leak.

The original gallery has been removed from the adult site, but copies have already been archived across various file-sharing platforms and image galleries.

The leaked materials reveal several noteworthy elements including designs for historical figures, major locations, and numerous weapons. The artwork also appears to contain potential story spoilers for Assassin's Creed Shadows. While authenticity can't be fully verified until release, the images circulating appear genuine.

This leak surfaces shortly before Assassin's Creed Shadows' scheduled launch on March 20, 2025, following an earlier delay that pushed the original 2024 February release window.

During a recent preview event, IGN spoke with game director Charles Benoit about Shadows' development. Benoit explained the delay focused primarily on polishing existing systems rather than major overhauls. The team refined "a couple of things in progression to make it more engaging" and addressed balancing issues, but key development efforts concentrated on improving the parkour system to accommodate Feudal Japanese architecture.

"The Japanese architecture, the roofs [are] super complex," Benoit noted. "Probably the most complex thing that I ever worked with if we compared to Odyssey and Syndicate. We needed specific codes and specific animations to create fluid movement, adjusting parkour transitions for better flow. This was a primary focus based on feedback, and we've made significant improvements in recent months."
