Indus Surges in Popularity, Reaching 5 Million Downloads and Completing Manila Playtest

Author: Andrew Jan 23,2025

Indus, the Indian-made battle royale shooter, has achieved a remarkable milestone: over five million Android downloads and 100,000 iOS downloads within just two months of its launch. This success follows a Google Play Best Made in India Game 2024 award and a successful international playtest in Manila.

This significant achievement propels Indus forward in SuperGaming's ambitious plan to establish it as a leading Indian gaming title, surpassing competitors like FAU-G: Domination. The Manila YGG Play Summit playtest provided valuable feedback from local esports professionals.

Furthering their esports ambitions, SuperGaming launched the Clutch India Movement, featuring the Indus International Tournament. Running from October 2024 to February 2025, this tournament boasts a substantial INR 2.5 crore (approximately $31,000) prize pool.

Impressive Growth, Future Potential

While Indus's five million downloads fall slightly short of its initial ten million pre-registrations (a common discrepancy), the figures remain impressive. The relatively lower iOS download count suggests a need for further engagement with that segment of the Indian gaming market.

Despite this, SuperGaming's proactive approach—including international playtests and an esports tournament—clearly demonstrates their ambitious vision for Indus's growth.
