RGG Studio's Yakuza Kiwami 3 Leaked by Website Hint

Author: Daniel Mar 06,2026

Sega and its longtime developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio appear to have unintentionally teased Yakuza Kiwami 3, signaling that an official announcement may be imminent.

Excitement spread across social platforms like X/Twitter and Reddit after fans spotted references to Yakuza Kiwami 3 on the official studio website. Although the original listing, which simply noted a third installment in the Yakuza remake series, was later removed, supporters managed to capture screenshots as proof before it vanished.

The Kiwami series represents RGG Studio's ongoing effort to remake classic Yakuza titles. Yakuza Kiwami, released in 2016, reimagined the first game, while Yakuza Kiwami 2 covered the sequel. Yakuza Kiwami 3 hasn't been officially confirmed, but if RGG moves forward as expected, it will likely be a full remake of the 2009 PlayStation 3 release, Yakuza 3.

If the Yakuza development team is indeed preparing to share news about Yakuza Kiwami 3, it wouldn’t come as a shock. The studio's annual RGG Summit is scheduled for September 24, immediately followed by an RGG Direct livestream. Many fans already anticipated major announcements related to the Like a Dragon franchise, making the website leak—coming just one week before the event—especially timely.

Back in April 2024, series director Masayoshi Yokoyama also touched on the possibility of Yakuza Kiwami 3. While advising fans not to expect it too soon due to other ongoing projects, he hinted that a remake was still under consideration.

"I'll just say that I think I'll do Kiwami 3 at some point," Yokoyama shared at the time. "I'm sure I'll do it someday."
