Sucker Punch Productions will unveil an in-depth gameplay showcase for Ghost of Yōtei during a dedicated State of Play event next month.

A PlayStation Blog update confirmed plans to reveal enhanced combat mechanics and gameplay improvements for this eagerly awaited samurai sequel. The Ghost of Tsushima follow-up made a brief appearance during today's June 2025 State of Play, primarily serving as confirmation that Sucker Punch remains on track for its October launch.

Though Ghost of Yōtei's fleeting appearance may have left fans wanting more, the July State of Play promises substantial gameplay reveals. While the exact date remains unconfirmed, Sucker Punch confirmed this exclusive showcase will highlight Yōtei's refined mechanics—from combat systems to open-world exploration.

The studio officially revealed its Ghost of Tsushima sequel last September, introducing protagonist Atsu's brutal journey through feudal Japan in 1603. Though details have been scarce since the 2020 original, creative director Nate Fox assures this installment will maintain the cultural authenticity that defined its predecessor.
