Freedom Wars Remastered Shows Off Gameplay Systems

Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Unveiled

A new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered showcases the game's revamped gameplay and control systems, promising a significantly improved experience over the original PS Vita title. The core loop remains intact: players battle colossal mechanical creatures known as Abductors, gather resources, upgrade their equipment, and complete missions within a bleak, resource-depleted dystopian world. The game launches January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.

The game's origins lie in a response to Sony's loss of Monster Hunter exclusivity. Capcom's decision to bring the series to Nintendo platforms prompted Sony to develop Freedom Wars, a title sharing a similar gameplay loop—though with a futuristic setting—for the PS Vita.

The recently released trailer introduces the protagonist, a "Sinner" condemned for the crime of being born. Players undertake missions for their Panopticon (city-state), ranging from civilian rescue and Abductor extermination to capturing control systems. These missions can be tackled solo or cooperatively online.

Enhanced Gameplay and Visuals:

Freedom Wars Remastered boasts several key improvements. Visual fidelity receives a substantial boost, with PS5 and PC versions achieving 4K (2160p) resolution at 60 FPS. The PS4 version runs at 1080p 60 FPS, while the Switch version maintains 1080p at 30 FPS. Gameplay is faster-paced than the original, thanks to enhanced movement speed and new attack cancellation mechanics.

Revamped Systems and New Content:

The crafting and upgrade systems have undergone a complete overhaul, featuring more intuitive interfaces and the ability to freely attach and detach modules. A new module synthesis feature allows players to enhance modules using resources obtained from rescued citizens. A challenging new difficulty mode, "Deadly Sinner," caters to experienced players. Importantly, all customization DLC from the original PS Vita release is included from the outset.
