Valheim is an immersive game centered around exploring new biomes and gathering resources to challenge its formidable bosses. The journey can be intense, especially in treacherous areas like the Swamp and Mountain, where even the most seasoned players can be taken down swiftly upon arrival.

Despite its challenging environment, Valheim offers respite through its merchants, who provide essential items to ease your journey. Currently, there are three merchants in the game, each offering unique goods that can significantly enhance your experience. However, locating them in the game's procedurally generated worlds can be daunting. Here's a detailed guide on where to find each merchant and what they have to offer.

How To Find Haldor In Valheim (Black Forest Merchant)

Haldor is one of the easiest merchants to locate due to his proximity to the world center, spawning within a 1500m radius. He resides in the Black Forest biome, which you can explore early in the game.

Haldor tends to appear near The Elder's spawn area, the boss of the Black Forest. To find The Elder, look for glowing ruins in Burial Chambers. However, given the large search area, using the Valheim World Generator, created by wd40bomber7, can streamline your search by allowing you to generate your world seed and pinpoint trader locations.

Once you find Haldor, he'll consistently spawn at that location. Building a portal near his spot will make future visits quick and convenient. You'll need gold to trade with him, which you can acquire by exploring dungeons and selling gems like Rubies, Amber Pearls, and Silver Necklaces.

How To Find Hildir In Valheim (Meadows Merchant)

Hildir, located in the Meadows biome, is harder to find than Haldor despite the biome's relative safety. She typically spawns between 3000 and 5100m from the world center, with each potential spawn point approximately 1000m apart. You may need to sail around the world to locate her, but a T-Shirt icon will appear on your map when you're within 300-400m of her location. Building a portal once you find her will facilitate future visits.

Hildir specializes in clothing that offers various buffs. Many items provide similar benefits, allowing you to choose based on style without sacrificing functionality. Additionally, she offers quests to recover her lost items, leading you to new dungeons in different biomes:

  • Smouldering Tombs in The Black Forest
  • Howling Caverns in Mountains
  • Sealed Towers in The Plains

Completing these quests and returning the chests to Hildir unlocks new items in her shop with diverse effects.

How To Find The Bog Witch In Valheim (Swamp Merchant)

The Bog Witch, the newest addition to Valheim's traders, resides in the challenging Swamp biome. She can be found between 3000m and 8000m from the world center, with spawn points 1000m apart. Given the difficulty of the Swamp, using the Valheim World Generator to locate her is advisable. However, if you prefer to search manually, look for her Cauldron icon on the map as you approach. Once found, she'll remain in that location, so bring portal-building materials for easy access.

The Bog Witch is unique as a friendly Greydwarf with a magical Kvastur that maintains her hut and defends against enemies. Her hut offers a comfort level of 3, and she provides access to new items for cooking and crafting meads.
