‘Fallen Feathers’ Studio Addresses Performance Issues

UPDATE: Earlier today, on July 28, the developer of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Leenzee, issued an updated statement on Steam. The team offered a further apology for the game's launch problems and promised a full explanation of the issues is forthcoming.

Leenzee also stated they are "closely monitoring all community channels" and that "every voice—whether criticism or suggestion—has been heard, carefully considered, and actively discussed to find solutions."

Addressing problems with pre-order rewards and the initial compensation, Leenzee announced new measures. Owners of the Steam Deluxe Edition will receive three additional deluxe costume sets and four new weapons. Both Standard and Deluxe Edition owners will get three extra headgear items.

Regarding ongoing performance and optimization problems?

"We will continue to optimize performance and will keep adjusting the game based on your feedback—including difficulty levels and boss encounters—in future updates," Leenzee added, outlining the following focus areas for optimization:

• Fix crashes across different devices
• Improve frame rates and reduce lag on certain graphics cards
• Optimize default settings for some graphics cards
• Adjust the recovery speed after being knocked down
• Reduce damage and frequency of some traps
• Lower the impact resistance of certain low-level enemies
• Reduce exploration pressure in specific areas
• Fix quest interruption issues caused by missing items
• Improve AI logic for enemies and bosses
• Enhance texture quality in low-resolution areas
• Improve asset detail and precision in some regions

"We deeply value every player's support and encouragement. We are actively reviewing our workflows and striving to improve our capabilities to deliver higher-quality services more efficiently," Leenzee concluded. "We ask for your patience as we work through these optimizations step by step. We hope that, in time, both our work and our team can meet your expectations."

At the time of writing, the game's Steam user rating remains "Mostly Negative."
