Hi-Fi Rush Dev Tango Gameworks 'Remains Dedicated to Distinctive and New IPs,' as It Starts Hiring for New Action Game

Hi-Fi Rush creator Tango Gameworks has launched its redesigned website and confirmed it is developing an "unannounced action game."

The site, which features updated branding and a careers page hiring for new roles on an unannounced project, outlines Tango Gameworks' core mission as "creating new games and expanding intellectual properties" as an "independent development studio based in Tokyo, Japan" under the Krafton umbrella.

In May 2024, Microsoft announced it had closed several Bethesda studios, including Tango Gameworks and Arkane Austin, the developer behind Redfall. The announcement sparked shock and anger among developers and fans, particularly after Microsoft executive Aaron Greenberg had previously described Hi-Fi Rush as a "breakout hit for [Xbox] and [its] players across all key metrics and expectations."

"Finally, after months of waiting, Tango Gameworks is back, and in a brand-new way," the studio's new website states. "We’ve opened our site to give our fans and future team members a look into our studio. Here you can learn about the studio philosophy, as well as see featurettes from members of the team.

"Since joining Krafton, Tango Gameworks embarks on a new chapter, developing titles that resonate with players around the world," the company added. "We remain dedicated to the creation and growth of distinctive and new IPs, taking on challenges to be a unique voice in the game industry."

Tango explained that its vision is "centered on a studio that acts like a creative workshop, making games and experiences that emphasize that 'hand-made' feel we put into our work."

As for what that new game might be? It is difficult to say at this moment. A news post published earlier today states that Tango "aren’t ready to reveal much yet," but "has a number of positions open for early work on an unannounced action game."

According to a machine translation of the senior-level designer position, Tango is seeking someone with "experience developing 3D action games" in Unreal Engine 5. The cutscene manager job similarly requires experience with 3D action games but offers no other clues for now. Could it be Hi-Fi Rush 2?
