Wingspan Will Release Its Asia Expansion This Year with New Cards and Modes

Wingspan's Asia Expansion: A Flight of New Birds and Game Modes

The popular strategy video game, Wingspan, is preparing for a significant expansion, focusing on the diverse avian life and landscapes of Asia. While a precise release date remains unannounced, this expansion promises a wealth of new content.

Detailed Look at the Asia Expansion:

This expansion introduces a captivating array of new birds from India, China, and Japan, each boasting unique abilities and intriguing facts. Adding to the strategic depth are 13 new bonus cards, with two specifically designed for enhanced solo play via the Automa mode.

Four breathtaking new game backgrounds showcase the stunning variety of Asian landscapes, complemented by eight new player portraits reflecting regional cultural influences.

A major addition is the introduction of Duet Mode, a competitive one-on-one experience played on a dedicated Duet Map. Players will vie for habitat spaces and strive to achieve unique end-of-round objectives.

The expansion also enhances the auditory experience with four new, calming music tracks composed by Paweł Górniak, perfectly complementing the gameplay atmosphere.

About Wingspan:

Adapted from Elizabeth Hargrave's acclaimed board game, Wingspan's digital iteration (released in 2020 for PC and 2021 for mobile) challenges players to strategically attract birds to their wildlife preserves. Each bird contributes to powerful combinations, requiring careful resource management and strategic card selection within a limited number of turns. Gameplay mirrors real-world avian behaviors, with hawks hunting, pelicans fishing, and geese flocking.

While awaiting the Asia Expansion, players can explore the European and Oceania expansions available on the Google Play Store.
