Every Marvel TV Show in the Disney+ Era Ranked

Author: Logan Feb 22,2025

Marvel's small-screen adventures have spanned decades, from the iconic "Incredible Hulk" to the gritty Netflix series showcasing Daredevil and Luke Cage. While earlier attempts to bridge the gap between TV and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) often faltered (remember "Runaways"?), 2021 marked a turning point. Marvel Studios launched a wave of interconnected Disney+ series, deeply entwined with the blockbuster film franchise.

With "Spider-Man: Freshman Year" (the 13th Disney+ Marvel series) on the horizon, we've ranked the preceding 12. Our team of Marvel experts compiled individual rankings, resulting in this aggregated list. "Spider-Man: Freshman Year's" placement will be revealed post-release.

Disney+ Marvel TV Shows Ranked

  1. Secret Invasion

Disney+
A near-universal consensus places "Secret Invasion" at the bottom. Despite the source material's significance in Marvel Comics, the series fell short. Director Ali Selim's admission of not reading the comics highlights a disconnect. While MCU adaptations often successfully reinterpret source material, "Secret Invasion" lacked a compelling vision. Its attempt to emulate "Captain America: The Winter Soldier's" espionage tone was hampered by slow pacing, a jarring AI-generated opening, the unfortunate death of a key female character, and a forgettable new powered individual.

  1. Echo

Disney+
A significant improvement over "Secret Invasion," "Echo" still ranks lower. Alaqua Cox's return as Echo delivers an action-packed narrative centered on her life on the reservation. The series balances her powers, past, and relationship with Kingpin. A shortened episode count left some viewers wanting more, but the series features impressive action sequences, notably a fight with Daredevil. Its predominantly Indigenous cast and crew is a significant achievement. While not as impactful as others, it's a unique and emotionally resonant addition to the MCU.

  1. Moon Knight

Disney+
This Oscar Isaac-led series surprisingly ranks lower. Marc Spector's multiple personalities drive a dark and mysterious story. The series blends elements of various films and shows, including "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and Fox's "Legion." Scarlet Scarab emerges as a standout character, alongside strong performances from F. Murray Abraham and Ethan Hawke. Despite its strengths, "Moon Knight" couldn't reach the top tiers and hasn't been renewed for a second season.

  1. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Disney+
Despite the chemistry between Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" fell short of expectations. Murky morality, heavy reliance on the Blip aftermath, and a focus on espionage over action contributed to its lower ranking. The COVID-19 pandemic impacted production, potentially affecting the final product. Nevertheless, the series' narrative elements are crucial to understanding the current MCU, particularly this year's "Thunderbolts" film.
