This 80s-set showdown follows the recent releases of Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 and Godzilla vs. Hulk #1. The story picks up after Secret Wars (1984), with Peter Parker still adjusting to his new symbiote suit. He'll need all his newfound power to face the King of the Monsters.
Joe Kelly (soon to relaunch The Amazing Spider-Man) pens the script, with art by Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and the X-Men), and cover art by Bradshaw, Lee Garbett, and Greg Land.
"The moment I heard about an '80s-set Godzilla/Spidey crossover, I practically jumped for it," Kelly shared with IGN. "This comic is pure fun, showcasing two legendary characters amidst the chaotic energy of that era. Nick Bradshaw perfectly captures the absurdity while giving Godzilla and Spidey (in his, shall we say, unique black suit) the gravitas they deserve. It's a love letter delivered with a earth-shattering roar!"
This isn't the first superhero-Godzilla crossover; DC's Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong (and its sequel) featured the MonsterVerse versions. Marvel's series, however, stars the classic Toho Godzilla.
This announcement follows IDW's Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, an anthology benefiting wildfire relief.
Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 stomps onto shelves April 30, 2025. For more comic news, check out our Marvel and DC 2025 previews.
