Enhanced Xbox Game Pass Rewards Program Coming January 7th

Starting January 7th, Xbox Game Pass is rolling out a revamped rewards system, introducing Quests to PC Game Pass users and significantly altering how points are earned. Crucially, these new features are exclusively for players aged 18 and older, prioritizing age-appropriate gaming experiences.

This update expands the existing rewards program, previously limited to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Now, PC Game Pass members (18+) will gain access to the Quests and Rewards Hub, unlocking various ways to earn points redeemable for rewards. Points are earned by playing games from the Game Pass catalog for a minimum of 15 minutes. Third-party launcher games are excluded.

Key Changes to Game Pass Quests and Rewards:

• Quests accessible on PC Game Pass (January 7th onwards): PC players aged 18+ can now participate.

• New Quest Types:

  • Daily Play: Earn 10 points daily by playing any Game Pass title for at least 15 minutes.
  • Weekly Streaks: Play for at least five days a week to earn points. Maintaining a streak increases the point multiplier (2x for two weeks, 3x for three, and 4x for four or more consecutive weeks).
  • Monthly 4-Pack & 8-Pack: Explore the Game Pass catalog by playing four (or eight) different games for at least 15 minutes each month. The 4-Pack games count towards the 8-Pack.
  • PC Weekly Bonus: Earn 150 points by playing for at least 15 minutes on five or more days of the week.

• Rewards Hub Access Restriction: The Rewards Hub, used for tracking and redeeming points, will be unavailable to users under 18.

The improved system simplifies point accumulation with daily, weekly, and monthly opportunities. The return of weekly streaks allows for significant point multiplication through consistent gameplay. Microsoft emphasizes its commitment to age-appropriate content, hence the age restriction on these enhanced rewards. Players under 18 can only earn rewards through parental purchases of eligible items from the Microsoft Store.
