Fortnite reverses its controversial decision about one of the skins

The iconic Master Chief, the face of the Halo franchise (even if hidden behind a helmet), enjoys immense popularity as a Fortnite skin. His return to the item shop after a two-year hiatus was met with cheers, but a small detail soured the celebration.

Initially, an exclusive Matte Black style was offered only to players using Xbox Series S|X consoles. For a considerable period, Epic Games advertised this style as permanently obtainable. The abrupt announcement of its removal, therefore, caused significant backlash.

Some disgruntled fans even considered legal action, threatening a class-action lawsuit, believing the change violated certain terms and conditions. However, Epic Games quickly reversed course within 24 hours. The Matte Black style is now available to all Master Chief skin owners who play a single match on an Xbox Series S|X.

This reversal appears to be the most prudent decision. Given the festive Christmas season, such a controversial move would have undoubtedly dampened the holiday spirit for many players.
