Elden Ring Nightreign Scalpers and Scammers Already on the Loose

FromSoftware has begun distributing confirmation emails for the highly anticipated Elden Ring Nightreign network test. This follows the January 30th, 2025 announcement on Twitter (X). Excited fans are sharing their confirmation emails online.

Those selected will receive a second email on February 11th, 2025, containing a unique code to download the test client for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The registration period ran from January 10th to 20th, 2025, and FromSoftware hasn't indicated whether additional test opportunities will be available.

FromSoftware describes the network test as a "preliminary verification" to assess online system performance under heavy load. The test, running February 14th-16th, 2025, will feature five 3-hour sessions:

  • Session 1: February 14th, 3 AM - 6 AM PT
  • Session 2: February 14th, 7 PM - 10 PM PT
  • Session 3: February 15th, 11 AM - 2 PM PT
  • Session 4: February 16th, 3 AM - 6 AM PT
  • Session 5: February 16th, 7 PM - 10 PM PT

Beware of Scams and Scalpers

Reports indicate a Steam-based scam involving fraudulent Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test invites. These malicious links redirect users to phishing sites, potentially compromising accounts and spreading the scam via mass messages to friend lists. FromSoftware emphasizes that legitimate invites are only distributed via their official website and social media channels.

Furthermore, scalpers are already attempting to profit from the limited test access. Despite codes not being released until February 11th, listings for "confirmed codes" are appearing on various online marketplaces, with exorbitant prices ranging from $150 to $200, and some even auctioned.

Elden Ring Nightreign, initially unveiled at the 2024 Game Awards, is slated for release in 2025 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. A precise release date remains unannounced. For the latest updates, visit our dedicated Elden Ring Nightreign page.
