EA's Free-to-Play Skateboarding Simulator Announces Playtesting

EA's free-to-play skateboarding simulation game, skate. (stylized as skate.), is now accepting console playtesters! Find out how to participate below.

Announced in June 2020, skate. is finally open for playtesting on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. While a PC beta date remains unannounced, PC players can register as Insiders to receive updates.

According to the game's official X (formerly Twitter) account, console playtesting has been underway since at least December 2023, possibly even September. However, developer Full Circle encourages continued registration as development is ongoing.

To participate, visit EA's website, locate the skate. page, and register for Skate Insider Playtesting. Early access testers (Insiders) will receive exclusive in-game rewards, including a custom skateboard and stickers, upon the Early Access launch.

skate. is slated for Early Access release sometime in 2025. This marks the franchise's return after nearly a decade, following the release of Skate 3. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. Set in the fictional city of San Vansterdam, it's designed as a free-to-play, live-service title promising an "authentic evolution" of the nearly 20-year-old series, as detailed in a previous Full Circle YouTube interview.
