Operator

While powerful later, the Operator can feel challenging early on. The Interface skill is valuable, but the re-roll ability isn't a guaranteed boon. Role-playing-wise, the Operator is a versatile choice, adaptable to various character concepts.

Machinist

The Machinist starts with a bonus in Engineer, base levels in Interface and Intuit, and lacks Endure. Engage is unlevelable. Their ability allows them to spend Stress to add +2 to their lowest die, also reducing Stress on positive outcomes. This advantage grows as the game progresses.

The Machinist was a favorite in my playthrough. Their ability proved highly useful in overcoming difficult situations, especially considering the frequent need for Engineer and Interface checks. The built-in Stress reduction is a significant advantage, given the game's inherent tension. This class suits players drawn to the technical and mechanical aspects of the game's world.
