Hades 2 Deploys Warsong Update
The God Of War, Ares, Has Arrived
The acclaimed roguelike sequel Hades II has launched its substantial Warsong Update, pushing protagonist Melinoë toward her climactic confrontation beyond Olympus's guardian while introducing the fearsome Ares and his game-changing Boons into the mix.
Beyond the war god's debut, this update delivers a brand-new animal companion, additional enemies to overcome, a revamped Altar of Ashes with fresh visual effects, over 2,000 voice recordings, and new story moments. Players can even take a break from their underworld adventures to enjoy new musical tracks at the Crossroads or perform a lyrical duet with Artemis.
Developer Roadmap For Future Updates

Even with Warsong freshly launched, Supergiant Games is already mapping out its third major update, slated for reveal in several months according to their Steam announcement. The developers confirm Hades II will remain in Early Access as they focus on polishing existing content, noting that both the Underworld and Surface routes are structurally complete.
The team outlined three key focus areas following Warsong's final patches:
- Hidden Aspects: Mysteries surrounding the Nocturnal Arms await discovery, with plans to make them fully playable
- Enhanced Guardians: Key boss encounters will receive refinements to deliver fresh challenges
- Expanded Narrative: Deeper exploration of Melinoë's journey and character relationships lies ahead

Supergiant Games extended heartfelt appreciation to their player community, stating: "Your support helps us craft what we hope will be our most ambitious and replayable title yet - a sequel worthy of the original Hades while standing as its own remarkable experience."
The Warsong Update is now available free for all Hades II owners via Steam.
