READY! for Kindergarten

READY! for Kindergarten is the leading school readiness program developed by The Children's Reading Foundation. It's designed for children aged 2-5, and also benefits older children needing to strengthen foundational skills.

The READY! app uses interactive games to prepare your child for academic success. Each game focuses on a specific key skill, and repetition is encouraged—young children thrive on repeated practice in a supportive setting. Tap the "i" next to each game icon for details on the skill it teaches.

The app tracks your child's progress, providing reports showing their performance relative to other US children of the same age. This allows you to identify and address areas where your child might need extra support.

For 2-5 year-olds, games cover essential skills like singing the alphabet song, letter recognition (shape and sound), vocabulary building, counting to 30, and emotional recognition.

The READY! program is built upon 26 age-appropriate learning targets—measurable skills a typical 5-year-old should master before kindergarten. These targets, based on extensive research, were developed over seven years by early childhood experts, working closely with families, scientists, and educators.

READY! for Kindergarten received a Top 100 Award from District Administration Magazine in 2013.
