Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. Initially, elements provided character buffs and enemy resistances, but the update introduces Elemental Effects, allowing for more direct interactions. This guide details these effects and their impact.
Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs
While elements have always existed, Version 2.0 introduces active Elemental Effects, previously only applied by enemies. Each element now has a unique status effect:
Elemental Effect | Effect Description |
---|---|
Havoc Bane | Stacks periodically, up to 2. At 2 stacks, all stacks are removed, dealing Havoc DMG and reapplying to nearby characters. |
Glacio Chafe | Reduces movement speed per stack, up to 10 stacks which freeze the resonator. Players can "Struggle" to speed up thawing. |
Spectro Frazzle | Stacks reduce over time, dealing Spectro DMG. More stacks = more DMG. |
Fusion Burst | Stacks up to 10, exploding at max stacks for significant Fusion DMG. |
Aero Erosion | Deals periodic Aero DMG; stacks don't deplete to deal damage. More stacks = more DMG. |
Electro Flare | Reduces ATK based on stacks: 1-4 (-5%), 5-9 (-7% + Magnetized effect), 10 (-10%). |
Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets
Currently, the utilization of Elemental Effects is limited, primarily benefiting Spectro Rover:
Resonators Applying Elemental Effects:
- Spectro Rover: Post-Version 2.0 rework, Spectro Rover uniquely applies Spectro Frazzle via its Resonating Spin skill (2 stacks). The Shimmer effect prevents stack decay, allowing sustained buildup.
Echoes and Echo Sets Related to Elemental Effects:
- Echo Set - Eternal Radiance: 2pc: +10% Spectro DMG. 5pc: Spectro Frazzle inflicts increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s; 10 stacks grant a 15% Spectro DMG Bonus for 15s.
- Echo - Nightmare: Mourning Aix attacks deal 273.60% Spectro DMG, increased by 100% against Spectro Frazzle-affected enemies. +12% Spectro DMG Bonus.
While currently niche, the integration of Elemental Effects suggests future expansion in Wuthering Waves, potentially offering more strategic depth in combat.
