World of Warcraft's Extended Timewalking Extravaganza: Seven Weeks of Turbulent Timeways
World of Warcraft players are in for a treat! The Turbulent Timeways event is back, and this time it's even bigger. Running for seven consecutive weeks until February 24th, this event offers a non-stop Timewalking experience across various expansions. Players can earn a wealth of rewards, including a substantial experience boost and a coveted new mount.
This extended event builds upon the successful five-week run from September 2023. Players once again have the opportunity to earn the stackable Mastery of Timeways buff, providing a 20% experience bonus after completing four Timewalking dungeons. This time, however, the rewards are even more enticing.
The Timewalking Schedule:
- January 7-13: Mists of Pandaria
- January 14-20: Warlords of Draenor
- January 21-27: Legion
- January 28-February 3: Classic
- February 4-10: The Burning Crusade
- February 11-17: Wrath of the Lich King
- February 18-24: Cataclysm
Completing the Mastery of Timeways buff for at least five of these seven weeks unlocks the "Mastery of the Turbulent Timeways 2" achievement, granting players the adorable Timely Buzzbee mount. Furthermore, Timewalking vendors now offer permanent additions to their inventory, including Season of Discovery transmogs at the Classic vendor, and a chance to acquire the Sandy Shalewing pet (previously only available during the initial Turbulent Timeways event). Completing the weekly Timewalking dungeon quest yields Heroic-level gear throughout the event's duration.
More Than Just Timewalking:
With the recent conclusion of the 20th-anniversary event (which also featured extensive Timewalking), players will have enjoyed a whopping 18 consecutive weeks of Timewalking by the time Turbulent Timeways ends.
The event's end date also hints at future World of Warcraft plans. The final week of Timewalking concludes on February 24th. Considering Blizzard's typical eight-week patch cycle and the holiday season, this strongly suggests that Patch 11.1, "Undermined," is likely to launch on February 25th – ten weeks after Patch 11.0.7. With Plunderstorm's second run and The War Within's upcoming content update, World of Warcraft is setting the stage for a thrilling start to 2025.
