This month celebrates two decades since Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith premiered, the epic conclusion to the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Released on May 19, 2005, the film became George Lucas' final Star Wars directorial endeavor before Disney acquired Lucasfilm seven years later.
While fans anticipated Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader in Revenge of the Sith, the fate of other Jedi remained uncertain. The answer came through Order 66, Palpatine's sinister command that turned Clone Troopers against their Jedi allies. Despite thousands of Jedi serving at the time, logic dictated some would evade Palpatine's purge—beyond those destined to appear in the Original Trilogy.
Among the surviving Jedi introduced in Star Wars canon, we've ranked the 10 most impactful. Some survived briefly, while others persisted far longer—with a few fates still undisclosed. All, however, outlived Palpatine's infamous command.
Key criteria: Listed characters must have served the Jedi Order before Order 66, regardless of rank—Padawan, Knight, Master, or Initiate. This excludes non-affiliated Force-users like Maul or Palpatine, and untrained individuals like Jod Na Nawood.
The inclusion of Asajj Ventress warrants discussion. Though trained as a Padawan by stranded Jedi Ky Narec for 20 years, she never interacted with the Jedi Council or visited Coruscant. Combined with her later allegiance to Dooku, her Jedi status remains ambiguous—earning her an honorable mention.
