System Shock 2 Reborn as Anniversary Remaster, Hits Switch

Nightdive Studios has unveiled a significant update for its reimagining of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG classic. Originally titled System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, the modernized version is now officially known as System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, and is expanding its platform reach to include the Nintendo Switch.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will soon launch across a wide array of platforms: Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

The game's official description paints a chilling picture:

The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the Von Braun starship, you find yourself with amnesia, stranded amidst a terrifying catastrophe. Nightdive Studios promises a new trailer and the official release date will be revealed during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
