Sybo Games has quietly released a new mobile title, Subway Surfers City, on iOS and Android. This soft launch currently targets select regions.
The game, a sequel to the wildly popular Subway Surfers, boasts improved graphics and incorporates many features added to the original over its long lifespan. Expect familiar characters alongside newer additions like hoverboards.
Currently, the iOS soft launch includes the UK, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, Netherlands, and the Philippines. Android users in Denmark and the Philippines can also access the game.
A Bold Move for Sybo
Releasing a sequel to their flagship title is a strategic gamble for Sybo. The original Subway Surfers, powered by the aging Unity engine, has limitations that this sequel aims to overcome. The stealth soft launch approach is intriguing, especially given the game's global popularity.
Early player reaction and the wider release date remain to be seen. We eagerly await its full launch and hope it meets expectations.
