The Switch 2 Nintendo Direct Now Has a Time as Well as a Date

The Nintendo Switch 2 Nintendo Direct is scheduled for 6 AM PT on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025—that's 9 AM ET and 2 PM UK time. Nintendo promises a closer look at the Switch 2, following its brief unveiling last month. That initial reveal showcased the console's design, hinted at Mario Kart 9, and teased a potential "mouse" mode for the new Joy-Con controllers.

However, many questions remain unanswered. What's the function of the mysterious new Joy-Con button? What's the console's processing power? And what are the new ports for?

This Nintendo Direct is expected to reveal the full Switch 2 launch game lineup, a release date (predicted between June and September 2025), and hopefully, the console's price (analysts predict $400).

The emerging picture of the Switch 2's game library is promising. A substantial list of rumored third-party titles is circulating. Firaxis, the developer of Civilization 7, described the Switch 2's Joy-Con mouse mode as "definitely intriguing" in an IGN interview. Nacon, a prominent video game publisher, confirmed it has Switch 2 games ready for release. Hollow Knight: Silksong is also rumored for the platform. And recently, EA expressed interest in bringing Madden, FIFA, and The Sims to the Switch 2.
