Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion
Stellar Blade is decking the halls with its holiday-themed update, arriving December 17th. This update brings festive cheer, new outfits, and a mini-game to the post-apocalyptic world of Xion.
New Holiday Attire:
Eve and other characters sport brand-new Christmas costumes. The lineup includes:
- Santa Dress (Eve)
- Rudolph Pack (Drone)
- I’m No Santa (Adam)
Eve's holiday look can be further customized with a Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.
Festive Xion and Mini-Game Fun:
Xion itself gets a holiday makeover, adorned with warm lights and festive decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp share in the festive spirit, complete with seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away").
A new mini-game adds to the holiday fun. While details are scarce, it appears to involve shooting targets on a holiday drone for special rewards.
Control Your Festive Flair:
The update introduces an option to toggle seasonal content on or off, including the Nier:Automata DLC. This can be found in the game's Settings under Gameplay, with three options:
- Auto: Automatically enables/disables based on the season.
- Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
- Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.
Note that changing this setting requires a restart to the most recent save.
Mixed Reception:
While largely well-received (with many playfully calling Eve "Christmas Eve"), some players expressed concern about the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content is a point of contention for some.
