Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating Season Two with a massive content drop! Get ready for new characters, a fresh map, and exciting challenges. Plus, exclusive rewards await those who watch the new episodes!
Netflix's surprise holiday release of Squid Game: Unleashed – a free-to-play battle royale game based on the hit Korean drama – was a bold move. Now, with this Season Two update, they're cleverly incentivizing both subscribers and non-subscribers alike.
What's in store for players? Starting January 3rd, a new map inspired by the Season Two mini-game "Mingle" will launch. Three new playable characters will also debut throughout January: Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos.
Geum-Ja and Thanos will each have special in-game unlock events on January 3rd and 9th respectively. And here's the best part: watching Squid Game Season Two earns you in-game Cash and Wild Tokens! Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the exclusive "Binni Binge-Watcher" outfit!
Here's the January Update Schedule:
- January 3rd: New Mingle map and Geum-Ja character arrive. The "Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event" begins, challenging players to complete Mingle mini-games and collect Dalgona tins (until January 9th).
- January 9th: Thanos joins the roster, with his own "Thanos' Red Light Challenge" event. Eliminate players with knives to unlock him (until January 14th).
- January 16th: Yong-Sik, the final new character, makes his in-game debut.
Squid Game: Unleashed could be a game-changer for Netflix's gaming ambitions. Offering free access was a smart move, but rewarding Netflix subscribers and encouraging viewing is a brilliant strategy to boost both the game and the show's popularity.
