Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is set to make a splash at the Tokyo Game Show 2024, marking their first appearance in the General Exhibit in four years. The official event website lists Sony among the 731 exhibitors, occupying multiple booths across Halls 1 to 8. While Sony did participate in the Tokyo Game Show 2023, their presence was limited to the Demo Play area for indie game showcases. This year, they will join industry giants like Capcom and Konami in the main exhibition space.

What Sony plans to showcase remains a mystery. Following their State of Play presentation in May, where several 2024 game launches were announced, many of these titles may already be released by the time TGS rolls around. Additionally, Sony's recent financial statements indicate "no plans to release any new major existing franchise titles" before April 2025, adding an air of anticipation to their TGS display.
