Serial Cleaner tasks you with cleaning up crime scenes while under the influence of a moustache

Author: Ava Jan 22,2025

Serial Cleaner, the quirky crime-scene cleanup puzzler, is making a comeback! Originally released in 2019, this title is returning, but the extent of its revamp remains uncertain. Will it be a polished re-release or simply a modernized port? Only time will tell.

The game transports players to the gritty, yet cartoonish, 1970s. Think urban decay, stylish gangs, improbable events (turkeys falling from the sky, anyone?), and the cinematic cliché of killer sharks. As Bob Leaner, your job is to erase all traces of mob violence – bodies, bloodstains, the works – while cleverly avoiding the police.

Our previous 2019 review described the original Serial Cleaner as promising but unfinished. Now, developer Plug-In Digital is self-publishing a mobile version, offering a chance to rectify past shortcomings.

A Funky Return?

Pre-registration is open, with a February 11th, 2025 release date. While improvements are hoped for, given the time elapsed since the initial launch, significant changes might be unrealistic.

The core concept remains captivating, but a simple mobile re-release dampens expectations somewhat. However, Android users who missed out, or those experiencing compatibility issues with older iOS versions, might consider this an early gift.
