Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global server is closing on December 2nd, 2024. While the Japanese version continues, this marks the end of a four-year run for the international player base.
Two Months Remain
In-app purchases and Google Play Points exchanges have already ceased. The global launch in June 2020 marked the beginning of a journey with its share of ups and downs. Despite impressive visuals and a generous gacha system, the game received mixed reception.
Unlike its popular Japanese counterpart, the global version lacked significant content updates, notably the Solistia expansion and 6-star unit upgrades – content available in Japan for nearly a year. This content gap contributed to player dissatisfaction and ultimately, the server closure.
Community Reflections
Square Enix has closed several mobile titles this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest games, adding to the trend.
Romancing SaGa Re:universe, a turn-based RPG rooted in the classic SaGa series, offers players two months to enjoy its remaining content. Whether you're a long-time fan or a curious newcomer, this is your final opportunity to experience the game. Download it from the Google Play Store.
