For completionists playing Pokémon TCG Pocket, the Promo Card section is usually a satisfyingly short list to complete. However, the elusive Promo Card 008 is currently causing frustration.

The Appearance of Promo Card 008

The unobtainable Promo Card 008 appeared around January 2025, creating a noticeable gap in the Promo – A Card Dex between Professor Oak (007) and Pikachu (009). While its numbered position suggests it's been in the game's code for some time, it only recently started showing up as a blank entry in the collection. This has left players eager to learn how to acquire it.

Unveiling Promo Card 008

Although currently unobtainable, the card's design can be viewed. Accessing the "Related Cards" section for cards like Red Card (006) or Pokedex (004) reveals a greyed-out image of Promo Card 008. It depicts an alternate art Pokedex surrounded by Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.

The card's in-game information states it will be "obtained from a campaign," similar to the New Year 2025 Pikachu card (Promo 026). This differs from cards acquired through missions or Wonder Pick events, suggesting a potential giveaway tied to a specific event or celebration.

The exact release date and method of obtaining Pokémon TCG Pocket Promo Card 008 remain unknown. However, players hoping to complete their collection can anticipate its arrival. In the meantime, the option to hide unowned cards can be toggled off to temporarily remove the visual gap.
