Author: Mila Feb 28,2025

Following months of speculation and leaks, Pokémon Champions, a new multiplayer Pokémon battle game, has been officially unveiled. Developed collaboratively by Game Freak and The Pokémon Works (a joint venture between The Pokémon Company and ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl), this title focuses on core-style Pokémon battles.

The trailer showcased both Mega Evolution and Terastallization, hinting at a wide range of Pokémon and battle styles across various generations. Crucially, Pokémon Champions will integrate with Pokémon Home, enabling players to transfer their existing Pokémon collections for use in battles, finally giving purpose to those long-dormant digital creatures.

PlayCurrently in development for Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms, a release date remains unannounced. The game will support Latin American Spanish at launch, alongside other languages commonly featured in Pokémon games.

Interestingly, Pokémon Champions appears to be the same game that leaked last year as "Pokémon Synapse," part of the extensive "Freak Leak." While initial details were scarce, the leak suggested a multiplayer focus, though comparisons to Splatoon proved inaccurate. This official reveal clarifies the game's mechanics and features.
