Initial reactions to "Game of Thrones: Kingsroad" were mixed. Many dismissed it as visually dated, resembling a PS3-era licensed title or a simple mobile game. However, some remained hopeful, citing the lack of compelling "Game of Thrones" games as reason for optimism.
The Steam Next Fest demo, however, settled the debate. The game proved overwhelmingly disappointing. Critics panned nearly every aspect: outdated combat, graphics, and design choices strongly suggestive of a mobile origin. Many labeled it a simple port, though even if not, its visuals are reminiscent of a 2010 release.
While some positive reviews exist on the Steam page, their similarity ("I really enjoyed the demo, looking forward to the full release") raises questions about their authenticity. Are they bots, or are they the same optimists clinging to hope for a polished final product? The answer remains unclear.
"Game of Thrones: Kingsroad" is slated for release on PC (Steam) and mobile platforms, though a firm release date is yet to be announced.
