Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Retro Nintendo Console Theme

Pikmin Bloom is all set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is pulling out all the stops by bringing back some nostalgic gadgets in the game. The festivities will kick off with a thrilling event starting on May 1st, 2025.

The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!

Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted us with an array of fun decor, including Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For its 3.5th anniversary, the game is diving deep into nostalgia by introducing classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s.

Adding to the vintage vibe, a Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin will make its appearance, paying homage to Nintendo's origins in the playing card industry before they ventured into the world of video games. These card designs are inspired by Nintendo’s iconic old-school playing card decks.

The anniversary event will run from May 1st until May 31st, 2025, giving players an entire month to engage in missions and collect these exciting new Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions will reward you with random goodies such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.

During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will also make an appearance. By smashing these mushrooms, you can obtain Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other valuable items. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin are particularly effective at taking down these mushrooms.

Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May

May will see the blooming of big flowers such as carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses, depending on whether you plant red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them.

There's also an exciting nectar update for May. Fruits obtained from mushrooms will now provide nectar not only for regular flowers but also for special blooms like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.

In addition to these updates, the 3.5th anniversary will feature a Community Day. Make sure to download Pikmin Bloom from the Google Play Store and get ready to join in the celebration.
