Path of Exile 2's endgame presents a significant challenge. To ease the transition, developers have strategically placed easily-missed encounters within the main campaign. These encounters offer permanent stat boosts, extra passive skill points, and weapon skill points. One such encounter, the Sisters of Garukhan, provides a valuable +10% Lightning Resistance buff. This guide details its location and activation.

Where To Find the Sisters of Garukhan

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter appears twice: in Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Locating it requires careful exploration of the Spires of Deshar map. While map generation is random, the encounter is always present. Look for a shrine resembling the image above. Interacting with it grants the buff, but be prepared for a fight—activating the shrine triggers a combat encounter with metallic automatons.

A helpful tip: If you reach a checkpoint before finding the shrine, use it to fast travel back, avoiding unnecessary combat.

Claiming the +10% Lightning Resistance Buff

The +10% Lightning Resistance is applied immediately upon interacting with the shrine. It's not a dropped item or a reward for defeating the automatons; it's an instant effect. Remember to complete this encounter in both Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel for a total of +20% Lightning Resistance.

Troubleshooting: Why the Buff Isn't Showing

Many players find their resistance values remain negative even after activating the buff. This is because PoE 2 applies a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances after each Act (Chaos Resistance is unaffected). Therefore:

• Act 2 (Normal): The +10% from the Sisters of Garukhan cancels out the -10% debuff from Act 1, resulting in a net zero.
• Act 2 (Cruel): The +10% partially offsets the cumulative -40% debuff (from Acts 1 and 2), leaving you with -30%.

To verify the buff's effect, remove all your equipment in the endgame and check your resistances. A -40% elemental resistance total indicates you haven't missed the encounter.
