Nintendo Switch 2 Logo Allegedly Unveiled

Nintendo Switch 2 Logo Leak Hints at Official Name

A purported Nintendo Switch 2 logo has surfaced online, potentially confirming the console's official name. The upcoming Nintendo console has been shrouded in mystery, despite Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa acknowledging its existence earlier in 2024. While a full reveal is anticipated before March 2025, with a launch later this year, the exact release date and even the console's name remain unconfirmed by Nintendo.

Speculation surrounding the release timeframe has been rampant since Furukawa's May 2024 announcement. Although the "Nintendo Switch 2" moniker is widely used, Nintendo hasn't officially confirmed it. Many leaks suggest a design similar to the original Switch, which might explain a direct sequel naming convention.

According to Comicbook, a logo has been leaked on Bluesky by Universo Nintendo's editor-in-chief, Necro Felipe. This logo closely resembles the original Switch logo, featuring the stylized Joy-Con controllers above "Nintendo Switch," with the only addition being a "2" next to the Joy-Con graphic. This detail strongly suggests "Nintendo Switch 2" will be the official name.

Is "Switch 2" the Right Choice?

While the logo's authenticity is unverified, some question the "Nintendo Switch 2" name. Nintendo's history includes consoles with significantly different names from their predecessors (e.g., the Wii U). The Wii U's unconventional name is often cited as a factor in its lower sales, potentially influencing Nintendo to adopt a more straightforward approach this time.

Previous leaks appear to corroborate both the name and the leaked logo. However, gamers should remain cautious and avoid treating these rumors as confirmed facts until Nintendo's official announcement. Recent social media activity suggests the highly anticipated reveal might be closer than expected.
