Nintendo's Japanese retail launch of the Alarmo alarm clock is officially delayed due to insufficient stock. This article details the postponement and the Alarmo's future availability.
Japan's Alarmo General Release Delayed
Nintendo Japan announced on their website that the general sale of the Alarmo alarm clock is postponed indefinitely. The February 2025 launch has been pushed back due to production and inventory challenges. Currently, there's no word on whether this impacts international availability, with a global public release still planned for March 2025.
To address the shortage, Nintendo will offer a pre-order period exclusively for Japanese Nintendo Switch Online subscribers starting mid-December, with shipments beginning in early February 2025. The precise pre-order start date will be announced later.
Nintendo's Popular Alarm Clock
Launched globally in October, the Alarmo—an interactive alarm clock featuring music from Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, Ring Fit Adventure, and more (with future updates promised)—quickly exceeded expectations. The overwhelming popularity led Nintendo to halt online orders and implement a lottery system. The Alarmo also sold out completely in physical Nintendo stores in Japan and New York.
