Weapon damage in NieR: Automata varies with each swing. Upgrading reduces this damage variance while boosting potential damage output.

The Iron Pipe boasts the game's widest damage range but also possesses exceptionally high potential damage. Its effectiveness is unpredictable, but its unique properties make it worth acquiring. Here's how:

How To Obtain the Iron Pipe in NieR: Automata

The Iron Pipe is a rare fishing reward found in sewers. Both sewer locations offer equal drop rates; the first is most accessible. Fast travel to the Resistance Camp, then head right towards the Amusement Park. After crossing a small gap, you'll find an open manhole under a highway.

Descend into the sewer, enter the water, and begin fishing. Other junk items, sellable for currency, may also appear. There's no guaranteed method to increase drop rates; obtaining the Iron Pipe can take seconds or minutes. Use your Pod's light to improve visibility in the dark sewer, aiding in the fishing process. A second sewer is located en route to the Flooded City.
