NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to powerful options such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique to the YoRHa units, but one weapon will resonate with Square Enix fans: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and stats during your first playthrough.
Where To Find The Engine Blade in NieR: Automata
The Engine Blade is located within the factory area, but not accessible during the game's opening sequence. You'll need to revisit this location as 2B. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) provides a quicker route. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.
Exiting the access point, follow the right path (2D camera perspective). Navigate past a fenced area, ascend broken stairs, and traverse conveyor belts with moving boxes and potentially lethal presses. After jumping to the next cylinder (two spider-like enemies await), take the left door.
Ascend more stairs, dodging exploding enemies. A railing ends mid-way, with an extending platform. Proceed towards the camera to activate a 2D platforming segment, jumping across presses to the left. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest (a locked chest is on the right). Beware of more exploding enemies dropping from the ceiling.
Engine Blade Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack Power: 160-200
- Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3
This weapon allows four upgrades, ultimately reaching a light combo of 7 hits (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, it boasts a tighter damage range, providing more predictable damage output.
