Netflix Games to Drop Two GTA Titles in March

Netflix Games is losing two classic Grand Theft Auto titles next month. Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be removed from the Netflix Games catalog on December 13th.

Why the Removal?

This isn't a surprise; Netflix licenses games similarly to movies and TV shows. The 12-month licensing agreement between Netflix and Rockstar Games for these two titles is expiring. A "Leaving Soon" notification will appear in-game before their removal. These games were added to the platform exactly one year prior.

What Happens After December 13th?

If you haven't finished these games, you can purchase them individually or as part of a trilogy bundle on the Google Play Store. Each game costs $4.99, or you can get the entire trilogy for $11.99. This is a more transparent exit than last year's removal of Samurai Shodown V and WrestleQuest.

Future Possibilities?

Interestingly, despite the success of the GTA trilogy on Netflix Games in 2023, Rockstar Games isn't renewing the license for these specific titles. However, rumors suggest a potential collaboration between Rockstar and Netflix to bring remastered versions of Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and even Chinatown Wars to the platform in the future.
