Monster Hunter Wilds Adds Pay-to-Play Features

Capcom has unveiled an exciting new feature in *Monster Hunter Wilds* that allows players to personalize their hunter and Palico appearances. The initial customization is complimentary, giving everyone a chance to tailor their characters right from the start. However, for those looking to make further adjustments, Capcom has introduced Character Edit Vouchers. These vouchers come in packs of three for $6 or as a bundle for both characters for $10. Without these vouchers, players are limited to modifying hairstyles, eyebrow color, makeup, and clothing, while core facial features remain unchanged.

This monetization strategy was not mentioned during the game's early previews before its full release. Capcom only announced it last week through their social media channels. Despite the controversy around microtransactions and performance hiccups, *Monster Hunter Wilds* shattered records with over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam at launch.

Capcom has not yet responded to the community's feedback on this decision. Fans have voiced their discontent with the paid customization model, drawing comparisons to previous games in the series where appearance changes were freely available or could be unlocked with in-game currency. Many in the community believe that this new approach detracts from what was once a core and cherished feature of the *Monster Hunter* franchise.
