Metal Slug: Awakening delivers a modern update to the beloved 90s franchise. Initially revealed in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J, the game has undergone development and name changes, finally debuting in Southeast Asia in late 2023 and now preparing for a worldwide release.

For the uninitiated, Metal Slug is a renowned Japanese run-and-gun series, originally launched in 1996 by Nazca Corporation and later expanding into a multimedia franchise. While previous mobile entries like Metal Slug Defense (2014), Metal Slug Attack (2016), and Metal Slug Commander (2020) existed, Awakening promises a significant leap forward in features and gameplay.

This new installment stays true to the core run-and-gun mechanics, enhanced by updated visuals and innovative gameplay additions. Rejoin your favorite Metal Slug characters in brand new missions, across various modes including a World Adventure, 3-player cooperative Team-up mode, and challenging Roguelike encounters.
