Marvel Snap Deck Guide: September 2024 Edition
This month's Marvel Snap (Free) meta is surprisingly balanced, but the new season introduces fresh cards and the "Activate" ability, promising significant shifts. This guide offers top-tier decks, assuming a complete card collection, alongside more accessible options for players with smaller collections. Remember, meta decks are fluid; adapt your strategies accordingly.
Top Tier Decks:
1. Kazar and Gilgamesh
Cards: Ant-Man, Nebula, Squirrel Girl, Dazzler, Kate Bishop, Marvel Boy, Caeira, Shanna, Kazar, Blue Marvel, Gilgamesh, Mockingbird
This deck leverages low-cost cards buffed by Kazar and Blue Marvel. Marvel Boy provides additional buffs, while Gilgamesh thrives in this high-buff environment. Kate Bishop offers utility and cost reduction for Mockingbird.
2. Silver Surfer Still Never Dies, Part II
Cards: Nova, Forge, Cassandra Nova, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Hope Summers, Nocturne, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Absorbing Man, Gwenpool
A refined classic, this deck utilizes Nova/Killmonger for early boosts, Forge to enhance Brood clones, Gwenpool for hand buffs, Shaw for scaling power, Hope for energy generation, Cassandra Nova for power stealing, and the Surfer/Absorbing Man combo for a powerful finish. Copycat replaces Red Guardian as a versatile tool.
3. Spectrum and Man-Thing Ongoing
Cards: Wasp, Ant-Man, Howard the Duck, Armor, US Agent, Lizard, Captain America, Cosmo, Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Man-Thing, Spectrum
This Ongoing archetype utilizes Spectrum's final-turn buff. The Luke Cage/Man-Thing synergy is potent, with Luke protecting cards from US Agent. Cosmo's utility is expected to increase. The deck's ease of play is a significant advantage.
4. Discard Dracula
Cards: Blade, Morbius, The Collector, Swarm, Colleen Wing, Moon Knight, Corvus Glaive, Lady Sif, Dracula, Proxima Midnight, MODOK, Apocalypse
A reliable Apocalypse-based Discard deck, featuring the buffed Moon Knight. Morbius and Dracula are the key cards, aiming for a final-turn Apocalypse/Dracula combo. The Collector provides additional potential.
5. Destroy
Cards: Deadpool, Niko Minoru, X-23, Carnage, Wolverine, Killmonger, Deathlok, Attuma, Nimrod, Knull, Death
A near-traditional Destroy deck, featuring the buffed Attuma. The strategy focuses on maximizing Deadpool and Wolverine destruction, using X-23 for energy generation, and finishing with Nimrod or Knull.
Fun & Accessible Decks:
6. Darkhawk Is Back (Did He Ever Leave?)
Cards: The Hood, Spider-Ham, Korg, Niko Minoru, Cassandra Nova, Moon Knight, Rockslide, Viper, Proxima Midnight, Darkhawk, Blackbolt, Stature
A fun deck centered around Darkhawk, utilizing Korg and Rockslide to manipulate the opponent's deck, alongside disruptive cards like Spider-Ham and Cassandra Nova.
7. Budget Kazar
Cards: Ant-Man, Elektra, Ice Man, Nightcrawler, Armor, Mister Fantastic, Cosmo, Kazar, Namor, Blue Marvel, Klaw, Onslaught
A more accessible version of the Kazar deck, ideal for newer players. While less consistent than the top-tier version, it provides valuable experience with the Kazar/Blue Marvel combo.
The introduction of the "Activate" ability and new cards will undoubtedly reshape the meta in October. Keep an eye out for balance changes and adapt your strategies to stay competitive. Happy Snapping!
