Marvel Rivals Season 1: Free Skins and New Characters

Season 1 of NetEase Games' Marvel Rivals, "Eternal Night Falls," has launched with a surprise: free Peni Parker and Scarlet Witch skins! This generous offering is included in the base battle pass, running from January 10th to April 11th, 2025. The season kicks off with Dracula's attack on New York City, prompting the Fantastic Four to step up.

The Fantastic Four are the stars of this season's roster expansion. Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman are immediately available, with Human Torch and The Thing joining the fray in a mid-season update. Leaks suggest Human Torch will be a Duelist and The Thing a Vanguard class character.

Players can earn free cosmetic rewards throughout the season. Peni Parker's stylish Blue Tarantula skin (a sky blue and white mech suit) is on page three of the battle pass. Scarlet Witch's Emporium Matron skin (a crimson and purple dress) is on page nine, accompanied by a free emote. Note that the MVP animations for both characters require the premium battle pass. A separate Midnight Features event allows players to earn a free Thor skin via in-game quests.

Beyond the freebies, the in-game shop offers premium skins for Invisible Woman (the Malice skin, featuring a black and red design) and Mister Fantastic (The Maker skin, a dark gray and blue ensemble). The abundance of new content has generated significant excitement among Marvel Rivals players. The standard battle pass costs 990 Lattice (approximately $10), but numerous free cosmetics are obtainable through quest completion and Chrono Token acquisition.
