LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship, New Star Wars Sets Before May the Fourth

Author: Camila May 01,2025

LEGO has unveiled an exciting lineup of nine new Star Wars sets, all set to launch on May 1, 2025, as part of Disney's extensive celebration of May the 4th, known affectionately as Star Wars Day. LEGO traditionally marks this occasion with the release of a new Ultimate Collector Series Starship. Following the Luke's X-Wing Starfighter in 2023 and the TIE Interceptor in 2024, this year's highlight is Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, which fans might better recognize as Slave I. This name change, implemented in 2021 at Disney's request (confirmed by LEGO), reflects a move away from potentially sensitive terminology. It appears the new name is here to stay.

The last major version of this LEGO starship was released in 2019 to celebrate the 20th anniversary, featuring 1007 pieces and depicting the ship as seen in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The latest iteration, boasting 2970 pieces, showcases the ship from Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. This new set is nearly three times larger than its predecessor, measuring 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
