In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the side quest "Bad Blood" offers a deep dive into the lives and struggles of the game's characters. Here’s a detailed guide on how to start and complete this compelling quest.

How to Start Bad Blood in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

As you explore the expansive world of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, you'll encounter a quest involving finding Mutt. During this quest, you'll visit a clearing near Bozhena’s hut, prompting Henry to suggest checking if Bozhena has seen Mutt. Head to her hut and inquire about Mutt. Bozhena will reveal that her daughter Pavlena is missing. Agreeing to help her will add the "Bad Blood" quest to your journal.

Gather Information

Begin by traveling to Troskowitz to speak with Bailiff Thrush, followed by a conversation with Innkeeper Betty at the local tavern. These interactions will shed light on Bozhena and Pavlena's past, explaining their ostracization from the village. Next, seek out Woodcutter Dushko at the designated area. After speaking with him, you'll be directed to Roman’s house, which requires lockpicking to enter—make sure to save your game beforehand. Inside, examine Pavlena’s basket and then revisit Dushko for more clues, leading you to a clearing near Roman’s house.

Search the Scene

From Roman’s house, follow the objective marker downhill towards a stream. Turn left at two large boulders to discover a trail of blood, eventually leading to Roman’s lifeless body. Continue upwards to speak with Hogherd Hugo, then return to the farm in Troskowitz to interrogate Hired Hand Straw. Passing a dialogue check with Straw will provide insights into Jakesh and the truth behind Roman and Pavlena's fate. You can also consult with Thrush about Straw's fate. To further your investigation, head to the rocks south of Zhelejov.

Confront Ota

Confront Ota in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2Navigate around a large boulder in the objective area to find a passable path. Ascend the ladder to encounter Ota and Pavlena. With sufficient Charisma, select these dialogue options to persuade Ota to release Pavlena:

  • “What’s your name?”
  • “Let her go and I’ll let you go.”
  • “I’ll put in a good word for you with His Lordship.”

Once Ota complies, Pavlena will take matters into her own hands, killing him. After speaking with her, return to Bozhena together. Bozhena will then request you to deal with Jakesh.

Kill Jakesh or Make Peace

Decision in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2The final choice in the quest is whether to eliminate Jakesh or attempt reconciliation. Find Jakesh at his child’s grave back at the farm. You can choose to kill him or engage in dialogue, aiming for a peaceful resolution. Alternatively, you could kill Bozhena instead, though this will alter the quest outcome. In my playthrough, I opted to kill Jakesh and then reported back to Bozhena to claim my reward.

Should You Kill Jakesh?

Choosing to kill Jakesh will lower your reputation in Troskowitz but significantly boost it with Bozhena and Pavlena. Additionally, you'll unlock new dialogue with Pavlena and receive a necklace that was a gift from Roman to her.

On the other hand, sparing Jakesh and facilitating peace will earn you 100 groschen from him. When you report back to Bozhena, you can decide whether to keep the money or share it, resulting in Bozhena and Pavlena being welcomed back into the community.
