NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The use of adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from a keyboard and mouse, is considered a violation of the game's terms of service. NetEase cites the unfair competitive advantage provided by increased control sensitivity and aiming assistance retention as the reason for the ban. The company employs detection tools to identify adapter usage with high accuracy, resulting in account suspension upon detection.
Separately, the game has been experiencing issues where higher FPS correlates with increased ping. While this might be less noticeable with already high ping, a significant jump (e.g., from 90ms to 150ms) can severely impact gameplay. This appears linked to frame rate. Until a patch addresses this, players are advised to experiment with their FPS settings, with some suggesting maintaining around 90 FPS as a potential workaround, although this may seem counterintuitive to players accustomed to higher frame rates in other games.
