Holding On To Marvel’s Wolverine Updates
Insomniac Games has revealed their roadmap for the future, yet they've chosen to remain silent on new developments regarding their eagerly awaited title, Marvel's Wolverine. In a recent interview with Variety, Insomniac Co-Head Chad Dezern emphasized the studio's focus on ambitious projects. However, he refrained from sharing any concrete details about upcoming releases, including whether Marvel's Wolverine is slated for a 2025 launch.
"As much as we have pent up excitement, we got to hold on to it," Dezern remarked, reflecting the studio's cautious approach to sharing updates on Marvel's Wolverine.
Marvel’s Wolverine First Announced in 2021
Marvel's Wolverine was first unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase 2021, accompanied by a cinematic teaser trailer. Insomniac confirmed that the game is in development exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
In a 2023 interview with the YouTube group Kinda Funny, Bryan Intihar, the Creative Director of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, confirmed that Marvel's Wolverine shares the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man, designated as universe 1048. Despite being announced together, fans have yet to see a crossover between the two titles, with the only nod being a Wolverine-themed suit, "The Best There Is," available for Miles Morales in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
In December 2023, Insomniac Games suffered a ransomware attack, which briefly exposed development assets and gameplay footage of Marvel's Wolverine to the public.
