Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered shines with its dynamic action gameplay, but it also offers extensive options for weapon and outfit customization. Whether you're sneaking past machines or engaging in intense melee or ranged combat, you can tailor your outfits to suit your playstyle. However, there are moments when combining the benefits of multiple outfits could give you an edge. Fortunately, it's possible to do so, though with certain limitations. This guide will walk you through the process.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required
To enjoy the unique feature of combining the effects of two outfits, you must play the Remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn. A recent update introduced the transmog system, enabling you to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while donning the appearance of another. This means you no longer have to compromise on style for the sake of performance.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
To utilize the two outfit method, you need to be aware of a few key points. This technique isn't universally applicable; while you can choose any outfit for one slot, the second must be one of these three:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (only available in New Game Plus)
These outfits are exclusive to the Frozen Wilds DLC, so you won't be able to start using this method right away. The good news is you don't need to finish the main game to access the DLC.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
To acquire the Banuk Werak Runner, first, make your way to the expansion area by defeating the new machine. If this proves challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear. Once in the area, find a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue icon) and purchase the outfit. Here are the costs:
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, you must complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Ensure you're well-equipped, as this quest can be demanding. Alternatively, switch to Story mode for an easier completion. The process for obtaining the Adept version is identical, but it's exclusive to New Game Plus.
Once you've secured the second outfit, you're ready to proceed. You can stop exploring the Frozen Wilds if you wish.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
Start by equipping your preferred outfit, focusing on the stats you need. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats with Weaves. After choosing your primary outfit, use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. Although these outfits don't add extra stats, they provide an auto-healing perk that activates after you've taken damage for a short period.
This method lets you maintain your chosen outfit's stats while benefiting from the auto-healing of the Banuk Werak outfits. If your primary outfit is the Shield Weaver, you'll be nearly invincible, as you'll seldom take damage. When you do, the Banuk Werak outfits' healing perk will kick in swiftly.
The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits' healing perk activates faster than the Banuk Werak Runner's, so opt for these if available.
